Pharma Africa Organization (“PAO”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we protect it and what rights you have. We process personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 of the United Republic of Tanzania.

2. Information we collect

• Event registration: your name, email, phone number, whether you are a member/student/guest/partner, university or workplace, number of people, and any notes you add.
• Protocol service requests: your name, organisation, email, phone, event type, date, location, team size, services needed and your message.
• Event updates (newsletter): your email address.
• Contact forms and emails: the details you send us.
• Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies): pages visited, the website you came from, device type (mobile, tablet or desktop) and a random visitor ID. Our own analytics does not store your IP address.

3. How we use your information

• To process your event registration, contact you about payment and logistics, and send your confirmation.
• To respond to protocol service requests and prepare proposals.
• To send event updates, if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To understand how the website is used and improve it (analytics, with your consent).
• To keep the website secure and prevent spam or abuse.

4. Legal basis

We process your data because you gave consent (for example subscribing or accepting analytics cookies), because it is needed to provide the service you asked for (for example registering for an event), or because we have a legitimate interest in running and securing our organisation. You may withdraw consent at any time.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the website and send email (such as our hosting and email providers), and with authorities when the law requires it. If Google Analytics is enabled and you accept analytics cookies, anonymised usage data is processed by Google.

6. How long we keep it

Registration and request records are kept for as long as needed to organise the event or service and for our records, and are then deleted or anonymised. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept in anonymous form.

7. Security

Your information is stored in a protected area of our server and is only accessible to authorised PAO staff through a password-protected dashboard. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

8. Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to your personal data, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. To use these rights, email info@pharmaafrica.or.tz. You may also complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission of Tanzania.

We use essential cookies and, with your consent, analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

10. Children

Our events and forms are intended for adults. If you register a child, please do so as their parent or guardian.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
